FALL 2012 ADMISSION IN USA

90% of the Asian students, who joins USA universities for higher education, will go through consultancies. Consultancies work with Universities for recruitment of students on commission basis. Usually, the initial commission for consultants/agents is 10 to 20% of the school fee. Some universities in US will pay a fixed amount of 500 to 3000 US Dollars depends upon the agreement between school and agent. If they keep supplying more students their commission will be increased by some percentage.

Generally, low ranked schools will pay big sum to the consultants. Consultants try to push you to apply to schools where they will get high commission rate which are obviously bad schools. There are some cases where students with 1300 GRE score were guided to join low ranked universities like Oklahoma City University, University of New Heaven, Trivalley, ITU, Northern Virginia.

3 most popular ways how consultants misguide you:

1) For innocent students who don’t have much knowledge about US schools, they describe the universities which have tie up with them are heaven for Indian students..blah..blah..blah.. Finally, they convince you to apply and join the school.

2) They will guide you to apply to top school where you don’t get admissions. Finally you end up with admission from a school which has tie up with them.

3) Consultancies will get the authorities of the universities to India and conduct Spot admission fairs. Generally speaking, Universities conducting spot admission are low ranked ones. Most of the students will be attracted to the spot admissions fairs as it makes getting admission simple and quick and will be caught in the trap of spot admissions.

This is how consultancies cheat students planning for masters in USA.
